“Lunar Reflections” began as a study in light and dark. The inspiration for this artwork came from the reflection of the full moon on the dark ocean at night, as the light dances on the surface with the movement of the waves. It's the most peaceful place to be and I wanted to capture this magical display. The artwork took a month to complete and was a complex study in design, colour and patience! The surfboard was pre-loved and destined for landfill, so repurposing it into a beautiful artwork that will last forever is a great joy. The artwork has been sealed for display purposes and is not recommended for using in the ocean. It comes with the timber stand as shown in the first image but this artwork would also look great displayed horizontally on the wall. “Surfboard - Free as a Bird” was an absolute please to create. It is one of the brightest, most joyful pieces I’ve created and is my first artwork on a surfboard. Having worked on it over a few months, it became my symbol of freedom and beacon of hope for a brighter future during these uncertain times.
